Lorette

Deze module baan was oorspronkelijk bedacht als oefenproject voor de vaste baan die ik tevens bouw. Aanvankelijk werd gestart met een traject van slechts 5 meter, dat verscheidene keren tentoongesteld werd. In een latere fase werd dit uitgebreid naar 8 meter en de uiteindelijke lengte bedraagt nu 16 meter. De module baan is opgebouwd naar Belgisch voorbeeld, zij het fictief, toch werden alle elementen zoveel mogelijk naar de werkelijkheid nagebootst. Het eerste deel is een tweesporig traject met een kleine fabriek / opslagruimte. Het tweede deel is een 4-sporig regionaal station en het derde deel is een rivier met de noodzakelijke bruggen.  In het tweede en derde deel werd ook overgegaan tot nabouw van bestaande elementen, zoals de steunmuur van het station Tilff (lijn 42), het stationsgebouw van Lichtervelde (lijn 66), seinhuis van Brugge-haven, brug over de Vesder (lijn 37). Het volledige traject is voorzien van bovenleiding. De uiteinden van de baan zijn begrensd door tunnels. Het station is handbediend. De lengte van de baan schept de mogelijkheid om met treinstellen van 9 tot 10 reizigerswagens of tot 22 goederenwagens te kunnen rijden. De baan is voorzien van een achtergrondwand en van een lichtluifel.

This lay-out presents a fictive electrified main-railwayline in Belgium and is build as much as possible to reality. It has a visible length of 16 m which represent 1400 m in reality. The line is a double track line with overhead line and runs through a light hilly landscape, inspired on the Vesder- line “37” between Liége and the German Border. On the left side, coming out of the tunnel, the line goes over the road and passes along an connection to a factory-building. In the mid-scene the line crosses between the hills and arrives at the regional station of  “Lorette”. The station has 4 tracks and at the right end of the station there’s an connection to a branch-line. Then both lines runs over the river into the tunnels at the right end of the lay-out. At the start the lay-out I was building the houses by scratch and repainting building-boxes, except for the factory-building which I constructed in architecture cardboard. Later on I built replica’s from existing buildings, the station is a copy from the Lichtervelde-station (line 66), the signalbox is the now demolished one at Brugge-Haven (Bruges-Harbour), the stonewall behind the station is located at Tilff (line 43 in the Ardennes), the riverbridge is the Nessonvaux-bridge on line 37 and the tunnel entrance is also located at line 37. The lay-out has light-signals and is hand-controlled. The period is situated at the years ‘80 till ‘90. Local and international trains alternates with long block-goods-trains  based on real compositions from that time. Although the line is electrified there’s still a lot of dieseltraction to see.
